Under the Nine Suns - Vaustian Republic

The Vaustian Republic is a democratic government currently representing the people of the Vaustian Cluster, a group of six bergs in relatively close proximity.

The Vaustian Republic was formed almost two hundred years ago after the reign of Emperor Na'Tier and the collapse of the United Vaustian Monarchy.

The government is led by a parliament who elect a prime minister from amongst
their number. Beneath the parliament is a long list of departments and ministries,
most of which are run by politically appointed officers.

The six bergs, including Elarin, that comprise the Vaustian Republic almost split after the rebellion that ended the rule of Emperor Na'Tier. The newly formed republic only managed to keep all the bergs together under one flag by making serious political concessions to separatist factions. While the republic maintains a united front, their control has never been entirely firm. The republic is constantly working to supress separatist movements and consolidate the nations under their government.
