Under the Nine Suns

Gnosk are a rarely encountered race within the Vaustian Republic. Each Gnosk is not a single entity, but a colony of beings that interact for mutual benefit. A Gnosk in its native form is imperceptible to most people.

Gnosk can enter into dead, organic matter and grant it a semblance of life. While it is possible and easiest to form a colony within a dead body of another sentient being, Gnosk understand that this can be unsettling to many people. Most Gnosk chose to form bodies made out of dead plant matter, oftentimes wood or vines.

Gnosk do not need to make bodies for themselves, and it seems that the majority do not, living in a plane of existence beyond the awareness of the rest of society. It is unclear what Gnosk gain by interacting with other races, though most seem to show a great deal of curriosity about the new world they are exploring.
