Alch power is used to create some of the most commonly used weapons in the Vaustian Republic.
Swords, axes and spears are often forged with alch capacitors, usually laid at the base, or along the back of the blade. Powered bludgeon weapons are usually made with charged studs. Batteries held in the weapon's hilt provide charge to the capacitors. Both blade and bludgeon are designed to release a charge upon impact, greatly increasing the weapon's potential damage. However, the batteries must be recharged frequently. Most alch weapons can only deliver a dozen or so strikes before needing a new battery.
Alch can also be used for ranged weapons. Pistols, muskets and other weapons use a focusing chamber and charged barrel to launch alch energy towards a target. This energy appears as lightning, the color of which depends on the exact type of ammunition used. Blasts are powerful, but lacking in accuracy, which reduces the weapon's effective range.
Armor made of ceramic compounds is used to combat alch weapons. The armor is effective, but often cracks after taking a direct hit. Most ceramic armor is made of multiple interlocking or overlapping plates to help mitigate this problem.
